SUPERVISE WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH FOR FORMWORK CONSTRUCTION

Course Overview

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to supervise formwork activities on construction sites. You will learn how to oversee the construction, erection, alteration, dismantling, and inspection of formwork structures, ensuring safety and compliance at every stage.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Apply the WSH Act and its relevant regulations to safely manage formwork activities, including construction, alteration, and dismantling.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a formwork supervisor in ensuring the safety of workers and the quality of the work.
  • Assist with risk assessments for formwork tasks and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Implement the fundamentals of formwork structure construction to ensure proper design and safety.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of formwork and falsework structures before, during, and after concreting.
  • Respond effectively to failures in formwork structures, fire incidents, and emergencies.

Who Should Attend?

This course is required for all workers supervising formwork activities on construction sites and in related industries, including those overseeing the construction, erection, and dismantling of formwork structures.


Pre-requisites

Participants should have:

  • ES Workplace Literacy Level 4 or higher.
  • A basic understanding of numbers at the ES Workplace Numeracy Level 4 or higher.
  • Ideally, completion of a relevant Formwork Course, such as SEC 8 (K) (Timber, Aluminium, or System Formwork) by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).

Note: Participants are advised to have WPLN Level 4 or higher to ensure they can fully understand and engage with the course content.

To complete the course successfully, participants must pass:

    • Passing Score: 65%
