Course Overview

The Manage Work at Height (MWAH) course is designed to meet the high standards set by the WSH (Work at Heights) Regulations 2013 and the Approved Code of Practice for Working Safely at Height. Tailored for supervisors, assessors, and managers responsible for overseeing work at height activities, this comprehensive course will equip you with the skills to identify and mitigate risks associated with working at heights.

In this course, you’ll learn how to develop, implement, and evaluate a Fall Prevention Plan to ensure all safety measures are in place. We’ll also cover the essential roles of stakeholders and competent persons in managing height safety and compliance with the relevant standards.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Understand and apply relevant Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, and Singapore Standards related to work at height.
  • Recognize the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders and competent persons involved in height safety.
  • Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement control measures for work at height activities.
  • Review and apply fall prevention and protective control measures to ensure safe work at height.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a Fall Prevention Plan (FPP).
  • Establish and manage a system for monitoring and controlling work at height risks.
  • Inspect and correct the use of individual fall protection equipment and effectively respond to a fall emergency.

Prerequisites

To get the most out of this course, you should have at least WSQ ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 4 or equivalent. This ensures you have the necessary skills to identify hazards, assess risks, and apply control measures.

Note: We recommend a WPLN Level 4 or higher to ensure full understanding of the course content.

Assessments

To successfully complete the course, you will need to pass:

  • Written Assessment:

    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Format: 35 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
    • Passing Score: 60%
    • Includes 2 out of 5 scenario-based questions
  • Practical Assessment:

    • Duration: 3 hours
    • Evaluation: Competent/Not Yet Competent
