SUPERVISE METAL SCAFFOLD ERECTION

Course Overview

Under the WSH Act 2006 (Scaffolds), it is mandatory for anyone aspiring to be a scaffold supervisor to complete training approved by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety & Health (MOM).

This course equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to supervise scaffold-related activities safely and efficiently. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand the material requirements for scaffolding.
  • Ensure safety during scaffold erection and dismantling by conducting hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Explain the WSH Act 2006 (Scaffolds) in detail.
  • Prepare and implement scaffold inspection checklists.
  • Identify the purposes and considerations for selecting various types of scaffolds.

This course is ideal for metal scaffold erectors who wish to advance their careers by becoming certified scaffold supervisors.


Admission Requirements

To enroll, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be physically fit and at least 18 years old.
  • Provide a copy of your scaffold erector certificate from any MOM-accredited training provider.
  • Wear safety shoes and proper attire (no singlets, shorts, or bermudas) during training.

Assessments

To successfully complete the course, you’ll need to pass both a written and practical assessment:

  • Written Assessment:

    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Format: 30 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
    • Passing Score: 65%
  • Practical Assessment:

    • Duration: 4 hours
    • Grading: Competent/Not Yet Competent basis
